Working with New and Old at King’s Cross

Thursday 23 April, 8.30am - 10.30am

Location: 5 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG

Bennetts Associates has been designing sustainable buildings on a number of sites at King’s Cross since 2006.  The first of these projects to be completed is Camden Council’s new BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ building at 5 Pancras Square. The building combines swimming pools, a gym, library, café and public-facing council services with ten floors of administrative facilities for the council in a single, integrated building. It has achieved one of the highest BREEAM Outstanding scores to date in the UK.

The event will start here with a talk from Bennetts Associates about their work at King’s Cross. Following the talk there will be guided tours of the construction site of the Midland Goods Shed nearby.

Bennetts Associates is currently working on plans to convert the Grade II listed Victorian railway structures to contain a unique mix of uses: a Waitrose concept supermarket, a cookery school and a visionary new cultural events venue for The Guardian.
