Join vHH Architects on a guided tour around our new Passivhaus school construction site. The Junior school building at St Benedict’s will house the Nursery and Pre-Prep classes for children aged three to seven, and is one of only a handful of schools in the UK which has been designed to Passivhaus standards. Through an explanatory talk and on-site tour, vHH and the design team (including the school and Jerram Falkus, the contractor) will explain the techniques and challenges behind designing and constructing using one of the most sustainable emerging technologies. After meeting at site at 3.30pm, the event will begin with a brief explanatory talk in the site hut, explaining the basic design principles of the building and the plans. This will be followed by a guided tour around the site; the external envelope will be complete, but internal works will be continuing, so please wear sensible footwear.

The tour is expected to finish around 4.30pm.
